SolarPower Europe condemns the Russian war on Ukraine and calls on the solar community to support the necessary humanitarian response. The unprovoked Russian war on Ukraine has shocked the world. As reports of the brutal attacks on the citizens and cities of Ukraine worsen, the European solar sector joins the strong international condemnation of Russia’s actions. As of March 27th, there have been at least 2,909 civilian casualties in Ukraine, including 225 children. Almost 4 million people have been forced to abandon their homes. Our most heartfelt sympathies are with the victims and their communities. SolarPower Europe stands in full solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
SolarPower Europe calls on the solar community and beyond during Solar Week in Brussels from 28 March- 1 April, to consider donating to the Belgian Consortium 12:12’s initiative for Ukraine. This initiative is a conglomerate of seven major humanitarian organisations in Belgium, including: Caritas International, the Belgian Red Cross, Doctors of the World, Handicap International Belgium, Oxfam Belgium, Plan International Belgium and UNICEF Belgium.
By making a donation, you are helping these organisations make a difference on the ground for the Ukrainian victims of armed violence.
